Desiree Belcourt, an Edmonton native, graduated from the Eveline Charles Academy in 2010. She started her career at Cherry Bomb and worked at Pink Lime and Propaganda Salon before finding her tribe at Salon Front.
Her goal is to become a platform artist and sculpt hair at the major international shows. She has competed in two competitions so far, the Contessa Awards and the North American Hairstyling Awards where she placed in the Top 10 in her category.
She is the self-proclaimed ‘granny’ of her salon, as she is learning to knit in her spare time. She is also learning to speak Cree in an effort to reconnect with her Mowhawk and Swampy Cree roots. She is remarkably good at men’s cuts, fades specifically, and enjoys doing funky colours.
